Located a short drive from the Metro Area, our Denver Snowmobile Rentals allow you to experience the Rocky Mountains backcountry at your own pace, with over 55,000 acres of terrain to explore at Vail Pass. This marked trail network consists of more than 100 miles of pristinely groomed trails, with virtually limitless opportunities to ride open, powder-filled bowls and meadows along the way.
Whether you set out on maintained trails or choose to blaze your own through untouched powder, Self Guided Snowmobile Rentals allow you to select the terrain you’d like to explore. Along the way you’ll be treated to spectacular vistas of the Gore Mountain Range as you ascend to elevations of over 12,000 feet near the Continental Divide.
The Vail Pass Winter Recreation Area offers a tremendous array of terrain to explore, with spectacular Snowmobile Rental opportunities available for experienced and non-experienced riders alike. 2-Hour, 4-Hour and 8-Hour Rentals are available with options for both single and double riders.
The Lodge at Camp Hale serves as the base camp for your adventure, home to a full service restaurant as well as a cozy, yet spacious lobby area with fireplaces.
Rentals include helmets for each rider. Snowmobile suits, boots and goggles are offered for rent at the time of check-in on a first come, first served basis. Trips depart daily with various departure times throughout the day beginning as early as 9:00 am. Rider check-in is requested 30 minutes prior to trip departure.

Additional Information:
- Guests must provide their own transportation to the snowmobile base camp. 4-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive is recommended and frequently required by Colorado State Law during times of frequent or heavy snowfall. These trips operate in all conditions and are not canceled due to snow. Please plan accordingly.
- Peak Season dates include: 11/20/23 – 11/26/23, 12/21/23 – 1/7/24, 1/12/24 –1/14/24, 2/12/24 – 2/19/24 and 3/1/24 – 3/31/24. Please note that 8-hour rentals are not offered during peak times.
- Snowmobile Rental prices do not include a National Forest Service Trail Use & Grooming Fee of $20.00 per person.
- Snowmobile Drivers must be 16 years of age or older with a valid vehicle driver's license. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older in order to carry a passenger on the back of their machine.
- A credit card imprint, serving as a damage deposit, is required on all Denver Snowmobiling Rentals.
- A signed liability waiver is required for each participant prior to departure.
- Please keep in mind that all Denver Snowmobile Rentals feature a 24-hour cancellation policy. This applies to both the complete cancellation of a party's reservation as well as individual machines canceled within 24 hours of trip departure or not utilized on the day of a trip.
